Booking dashboard

Review, filter, edit, and act on bookings — every day.

By the end of this guide, you'll know how to find any booking, change its status, edit it, and create one manually.

Before you start

What you'll need

  • A Cabintale account with at least one property
  • ~10 minutes
What you'll achieve
  • Confidence reading the bookings list
  • A workflow for confirming pending requests, editing dates, and creating manual bookings

The list

Sidebar → Bookings. The page splits bookings into two sections:

  • Pending reservations (status = pending) — usually requests waiting for your decision. They show with a striped background so they stand out.
  • Confirmed and other reservations — everything else (confirmed, blocked, etc.).

Two tabs at the top: Upcoming and Passed. Default is Upcoming — ongoing or future stays.

Filters

  • Resource type — All / Places / Services.
  • Pick the place / service — once you choose a type, you can drill into a specific resource.

There's no keyword/guest-name search at the list level today. Drill into a place or service to narrow down.

What each row shows

A booking row tells you:

  • Guest name (or Booking #42 if the guest didn't supply one).
  • Pax — guest count.
  • Dates — short format (Feb 19 → Feb 20 for places; Feb 19, 14:00 → 15:00 for services).
  • Total — booking value with currency.
  • Status badge — color-coded: pending (orange), confirmed (green), blocked (grey).
  • Source badge — colored dot showing where the booking came from. Direct is dark green; iCal-imported sources inherit their connected-calendar color.
  • Overlapping warning — if two bookings share the same dates, both show a red Overlapping badge.

Open a booking

Click the row. The detail page has these sections, top to bottom:

  1. Booking dates — for places, check-in and check-out (date pickers); for services, date plus time-from / time-to.
  2. Place / service selector — only visible if you opened the booking outside a single place/service scope.
  3. Customer info — name (required), email, phone, notes, custom-field answers.
  4. Pricing — total + currency. The total is fixed at booking creation; you can override.
  5. Delete booking — at the bottom, with a confirmation modal.

Change a booking's status

Top-right of the detail page is the Status dropdown. Pick a new status — that's the action. There's no separate confirm/reject button.

All transitions are manual. Status changes when you change it. That's by design.

Edit a booking

Open the booking, change any field, click Save at the top. Dates, guest info, pricing — all editable at any status. If you change dates and they overlap an existing booking, the system doesn't block you — you'll get an Overlapping warning in the list.

Manual booking entry

Sidebar → BookingsNew booking (top-right). Fill in dates, guest info, total. The booking lands in Confirmed status by default and blocks the calendar like a widget booking. Useful for phone-in reservations or recording a long-term block.

You can also create a booking by clicking an empty date on the calendar — the form opens with that date pre-filled.

Delete a booking

In the booking detail, scroll to the bottom. Click Delete booking → confirm. Deletion is permanent — there's no soft-delete or recycle bin. The dates open up immediately on the calendar.

What's not in this version

  • Bulk actions (multi-select to confirm or cancel many at once).
  • Keyword search across all bookings.
  • Soft delete / undo for deleted bookings.

If any of those would help you a lot, tell us.
